National Ewing Sarcoma Tumor Board

Have Your Case Reviewed by the Nation's Leading Ewing Sarcoma Specialists

Our Commitment to Connection and Expertise

As part of our commitment to connecting patients and families with leading expertise across the Ewing sarcoma community, the Ewing Sarcoma Institute highlights resources such as the National Ewing Sarcoma Tumor Board, led by Matteo Trucco, MD, Pediatric Oncologist and the Director of the Children’s Cancer Innovative Therapy Program at the Cleveland Clinic.

Mission

The National Ewing Sarcoma (NEWS) Tumor Board is dedicated to providing expert insight and education in the treatment and management of Ewing Sarcoma Family Tumors. Through multidisciplinary collaboration, specialists share knowledge, review clinical trials, and explore innovative treatment approaches with the goal of improving patient outcomes and quality of life.

Which Cases Are Presented?

  • Challenging or complex cases, including newly diagnosed, relapsed, or refractory Ewing Sarcoma Family Tumors
  • Cases that would benefit from expert discussion on systemic therapy, local control strategies, or clinical trial options
  • All cases must include a clearly defined focus question(s) to guide discussion

While ESI is not affiliated with the NEWS Tumor Board, we recognize it as a valuable resource,  particularly for patients facing complex situations or those without access to specialized Ewing sarcoma expertise.

We encourage families to speak with their care team to determine whether their case may benefit from multidisciplinary review. Cases must be submitted by the treating physician.

To ensure patient privacy, patients and families do not attend Tumor Board sessions directly.

Physicians can email either Erin Sites, Tumor Board coordinator at: sitese@ccf.org or Matteo Trucco, MD at: truccom@ccf.org
